I needed a new video card to connect with my Panasonic plasma tv. Using the available vga set up gave very poor results, so I needed to change out my perfectly good one to one that had an hdmi port. After a lot of research, I found this one. It fit the bill perfectly and was quite inexpensive! Picture quality on my Dell 24" is flawless with the dvi port and my plasma image, with the hdmi port, is equal to hd broadcast or Blu-ray. The Nvidia software package is easy to use and lets you size the image to mach the tv. Amazon was flawless as always with the returns. I wanted to give it one last shot so I tried this card. I took out the old card, stuck this one in and rebooted. Every thing worked flawlessly! This was for a 3 year old Dell running the latest version of windows 7 with all the latest updates and service packs, so I have no idea why the other card would not work. Shut down the computer, open the case, install the card, relocate the video to this new video card, put back the case, turn on the computer (the computer should be able to show you low resolution image), put in the install CD, load the driver, follow instruction to restart computer (now you got the high resolution!), on line update the driver (147Mb), re-install the new driver, restart computer and you are done and enjoy. It gives you nice upgrade in video and raises the performance index. Highly recommend to get it if you find a nice deal. By the way, I am using this low profile video card on my slim case computer that has very small space inside. I have been trying to find one and finally it is in my hands and works. |
